Guess who has been given a scolarship for studying abroad during a month next Summer!!
Of course it’s me. Two days ago I received a call and a woman told me that my application for a grant of the Foundation for the development of the mining areas was accepted.
In this case, the grant is for spending 4 weeks (from the 14th of July to the 10th of August) in Florence learning Italian. Actually, the grant itself is for studying abroad, but when I applied for it, I selected Florence because since I was a little boy I wanted to visit Italy and learn Italian.
But, on the other hand, it’s not compatible with the one of the MEC, so I’ve decided to reject it.
There are several reasons to do it, in spite of this grant is about 2600 € whereas the one of the MEC is 1650 € and that I always wanted to visit Italy.
1-I went to Malta last Summer and it was the best experience of my live so far.
2-My brother only applied for the grant of the MEC. And I’d like to go with him (he cooks really well
).
3-I need sun, and swimming in the sea. Florence have the former, but not the latter.
4-I’m going to spend 10 months in Sweden, so I prefer to put my English in practice. If I had had to go to Bologna instead of Lulea, things would have been different.
5-If I decided to go to Florence, I’d have to spend there 4 weeks, and since I finish my exams the first week of July and I have to fly to Sweden around the 15th of August… I’d need a longer Summer!!
6-Comino and the Blue Lagoon.
And I could continue, but it wouldn’t be worth it.
I’m going to Malta and I’ll be completely happy once I had finished the paperwork.
